HAWAIIAN SHIRT - INRTRODUCTION TO DIGITAL MEDIA
INTRODUCTION
This project from Digital Media Class envisages the creation of “Hawaiian Shirt” using Pen Tool, the Pattern Make function, Width Tool, Opacity, Blend Mode, Gradient Panel, the Text Tool, Blurring, Drop Shadow. First of all, for my shirt, I took the hibiscus flower because it is Hawai'i's official flower. The symbolism of the purple hibiscus flower is uncommon and distinctive beauty, as well as finding harmony in contrasts. Purple, after all, is a unique hue because it blends the coolness of blue with the warmth of red. As a result, a purple hibiscus flower represents acceptance and respect for all, regardless of their background or creed. As a result, I decided on the name "Hibiscus Party" for my shirt. It means "Welcome to Hawaii."

CREATIVE PROCESS

This project helped me to practice my skills in Adobe Illustrator and create a new Hawaiian shirt.

WORKFLOW
Step 1: Open the Adobe Illustrator. Go to File > New > Choose " Tabloid" Sized Document with Portrait Orientation.
P1: New Document box for creating the new page.
Step 2: To prepare the template of the shirt, I went to FILE-PLACE and took the image that our teacher gave us. Using DOUBLE-CLICK on the filename, I called it “TEMPLATE.”

P2: Creating a Template.
Step 3: I chose the Pen Tool (P) to create the outline shape for my shirt on the additional layer, called “Shirt,” in sequence like this.

P3: The consistent of the shirt creation.

P 4 : Using the Pen Tool ( P ) for creation the shirt
Step 4: After tracing the outline, I filled the lilac colour of my shirt because it fits purple hibiscus.
P 5: The finished outline of the shirt.
Step 5: I hid the shirt and created an extra layer to create the pattern for my shirt. After finishing my design, I chose all the detail > Object > Pattern > Make. Also, I have a template of this pattern on the Swatch Panel.
P 6,7: Creating the pattern.
Step 6: The next step is to make the clipping mask for the shirt outline by Object > Clipping mask > Make. I selected the shirt and applied the PATTERN to all parts of the shirt. After that, I added the TEXTURE and SHADOW too. Using the TILDE KEY and the ROTATE TOOL (R), I changed the direction of the PATTERN for a more realistic vision.
P 8: The finished shirt with the PATTERN.
Step 7: Creating an Aloha Label. For this step, I chose the name of the shirt company, the image of the sun, palm trees, and sand. Also, I added the TEXTURE on the label and changed its shape with WIDTH TOOL. Now, the label looks like in real life.
P 9: The shirt with an ALOHA LABEL.
P 10: ALOHA LABEL.
Step 8: I created a button using an ELLIPSE TOOL (L). Here I added the holes using the SHAPE BUILDER TOOL with shadow for a more realistic view. Also, I used the RADIAL GRADIENTS to show the 3D vision of the button. After that, I created the threads too.
P 11: The button.
P 12: The button with threads
Step 9: Add the label, buttons, and the name of the artwork to the final look of the Hawaiian Shirt.
P 12: The final Hawaiian Shirt.
Conclusion:
This project was very enjoyable for me because I learned a lot of functions of tools, such as Pen Tool, the Pattern Make function, Width Tool, Opacity, Blend Mode, Gradient Panel, the Text Tool, Blurring, Drop Shadow, and Blend Modes. They will be useful for me in my future assignments and work.
